His buildings are all over the world. We have one here in Chicago. If you have a personal relationship with or know someone that lives in a Trump building - what have they told you about their experience living there? What kind of people/person are they? I would assume they are wealthy. How did they make their money?
I don't know of - nor do any of my friends, colleagues or acquaintances - know of anyone that lives in his buildings. I'm just curious as to the profile of such people. What are they like? How did they make their money? Why did they choose a Trump property?
Your comments will be appreciated.

(25,239 posts)Why would a developer want to do that? Is it the power of the Trump brand that brings people to the building? What type of (wealthy) person desires to be associated with the Trump name? Why?

I think he ran for president to raise the value of the brand. Ironically, he's turned it into shish.
We have to get him out of office before he does the same thing to the country.

(25,239 posts)how about the people that gravitate to his buildings?

(25,239 posts)the task of being involved with the building of the building. That's why I assumed that it is a Trump owned building. Where did you hear otherwise.
I also remember the public outcry when the Trump name went up on the building.

(25,239 posts)knowing about the people that live in his buildings? Are they legit or crooked? Do they run businesses? Is that how they made their money? Might their businesses have two sets of books? Is the Trump Org a money laundering scheme? I think I've read somewhere that some suspect that might be the case.

(56,582 posts)Everything else is just somebody paying to plaster his name on the building.
I knew a guy who lived in Trump Tower Mumbai. Decent enough guy; he started a software company in the 80s and eventually sold to Tata and retired. It's not remotely the most expensive building to live in in the area; I think most of the Trump-branded stuff is like that: more aspirational than really luxe.

(22,025 posts)They live in a co-op on the West Side of Manhattan. They are lovely people.
Last year, the board of directors voted to remove Trump's name from the building. When they started to remove his name, the workers took down the first letter then took pictures that were in the NY Daily News, I think: "RUMP."
It's probably anecdotal, but two months later, the apartments' value had increased.

(34,165 posts)I don't people picked it because of their love of pre-2016 Trump, per se.
For example, Kieth Olbermann lived there, but has since left.
