If the SC sez they can un-ratify, they can un-ratify.

4. Is unratify in the Constitution?

If Virginia ratifies the amendment becomes ratified and part of the Constitution, they would have to repeal it the way they did Prohibition. Or so I thought.

Right now, the court seems to hang on the opinion of Roberts.

5. I don't think they can, but

I believe the big push for ERA in the 1970s was because there was a time limit on getting the requisite number of states to ratify, which was extended, but had not been extended since.

And, states like Idaho and Nebraska later vote to rescind their initial ratifications.

I'd love to see it pass like it should have passed 45 years ago, but I think a right-leaning SCOTUS would rule that the states rescinding their ratifications means that ERA did not get the required 38 out of 50 states.

9. Keep in mind that they also added a time limit, and it expired in like 1982

Some say that doesn't count, some say it does. It'll certainly go to the Supreme Court.

Also, it might not be a right-left thing on the SC. Maybe some liberals will think the extension and rescinds are legal, and maybe a conservative will not. They are not voting on the ERA itself.

They rescinded their votes. However, it might not be legal. But then again, maybe it is. No one knows yet.
