(25,471 posts)The headline is a little misleading. The tweet itemizes five items that the author of the tweet feels are impeachable offenses, so a better title would probably be "There are five proven impeachable offenses" and not "five proven articles of impeachment".

(10,270 posts)Abuse of Power in intentionally vague.
Obstruction of Congress is intentionally specific.
Now that these are recorded by the House as Impeachable Offences, they're NON PARDONABLE.
Which means, that even if the Senate chooses to leave him in office, he can still be prosecuted for them once his term is up.
At least, this is my understanding. IANAL.

(42,700 posts)What the Constitution prohibits is the use of the pardon power to prevent the subject of an impeachment proceeding from suffering the consequences of an impeachment conviction-- namely removal from office and, potentially, disqualification from holding any other office. But just as the Constitution provides that someone who is impeached can be subjected to separate criminal proceedings based on the same conduct as the impeachment proceeding, the pardon power can be applied to foreclose such criminal charges.
