4. A hospice....your kidding.

A local hospice built a spanking new facility near my aunt house...we thought it of it as a home. Unfortunately it wasn't finished for many of my family to use. It is seen as a success and valued part of our community. A hospice really this family is out of touch.

Them, damn pesky nuns were responsible for it too.

It was to be one-story, about 15,000 square feet, set far back from the neighborhood.

Belmont planners seized on it. The town needed the revenue, the site was well buffered, and residents, they thought, might appreciate the service.

Sure they would. Belmont Hill, it ends up, is like Hingham without the harbor. Residents immediately printed up lawn signs by the hundreds. They launched an antihospice website and Facebook page. They raised the specter of hearses and ambulances parading down their streets.

At an August selectmen’s meeting, according to a video posted by the Belmont Citizen-Herald, Tagg Romney stood and told the board, “I certainly would not have built my house if I thought there was a possibility of a hospice going there. The value of all our homes will decrease dramatically.”

I know I don't want dying people outside my home. Imagine how it is to live in the violent inner city and step outside your door to gang violence and dead bodies. Now those sickos at hospice are trying to bring a more sanitized version of death to the elite suburbs but it's a SLIPPERY SLOPE!! Soon Tagg will drive by and see dying people sunning themselves in wheelchairs and such. Next, they will be on his lawn!!!! Sick people are icky!!!! POOR TAGG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
