Well, good news. Use Witch Hazel as the way you would use an deodorant, works great as a deodorant ... soak a piece of tissue paper or sponge and apply to your underarms and this natural application will provide the results you desire, minus the Alzheimer's.

According to the authors of these studies, most breast cancers develop in the upper outer part of the breast -- the area closest to the armpit, which is where antiperspirants are applied. The studies suggest that chemicals in antiperspirants, including aluminum, are absorbed into the skin, particularly when the skin is nicked during shaving. These studies claim that those chemicals may then interact with DNA and lead to cancerous changes in cells, or interfere with the action of the female hormone estrogen, which is known to influence the growth of breast cancer cells.

(45,950 posts)Tried a whole bunch till I found this one. It works well.
I will say, though, that in my younger years, I really needed an antiperspirant because my pits used to sweat profusely (female hormones, at a guess). Now, I just sweat all over when I'm flashing!

(21,192 posts)I haven't found an aluminum free deodorant that works for more than a couple of hours in the summer. HOWEVER, after I shower, I find it helps to use an alcohol based hand sanitizer on my pits to kill 99.99% of the bacteria. It dries quickly and then I put on deodorant or antiperspirant.

(2,127 posts)It refutes the idea that antiperspirant's are bad for you. It quotes several "studies" and then reviews them. Their conclusions:
Antiperspirants: Should You Worry?
In short: No. There is no real scientific evidence that aluminum or any of the other ingredients in these products pose any threat to human health.

(47,245 posts)I keep getting bombed by e-mails from lawyers, screaming "LAST CHANCE!" for me to sue Roundup, or Zantac, or the latest one I got this morning, talcum powder for my ovarian cancer. (I'm a male, BTW...)
I call all of these "Breast Implant Lawsuits 2.0."
Panicky and hysterical screams about "CANCER! ALZHEIMERS! AUTISM!" yet when actual *gasp* science is applied, the hysterical claims seem to disappear.
So the panic-spreaders scream "COVER-UP!"
July of 2018, I had an operation for prostate cancer. Seems to be ok now.
Who should I sue?
The product I used the most in that area, was toilet paper.
Should I sue the toilet paper makers?
Or could it be that my family is a little prone to getting cancer?
(2 sisters had it, and my Dad died of cancer)

(106,106 posts)But go ahead, write a fearmongering OP. Why would you care if you get people needlessly worried, if it makes you feel good?
As your link says:
"The Internet, by its very nature, is a great medium for recycling old issues over and over again," Bailey says. "And I think there is a tendency for some people to use these scare tactics to their own advantage."

(28,493 posts)Or is it breast cancer that no one got? Both are mentioned.
This is the sort of bullshit pseudoscience that is actually harmful.
Oh, and in case someone wants to start ranting about how cancer is a disease of modern civilization, you need to know that dinosaurs got cancer. And some years ago someone did an excavation of a number of graves in a cemetery from the early Middle Ages, and determined essentially that people a thousand years ago got cancer at essentially the same rates that modern people do.
