(73,594 posts)i rode a bus for 9 hours each way w several members of the cook county black nurses assoc. we knocked doors in cinncinati.
they were one of the groups he had worked w as an organizer. such a great time.
the story- obama used to bring the girls to meetings on the regular, and they always seemed to need their hair fixed. there were a couple of ladies that passed the meeting fixing their hair for him. it was remembered w sweet smiles by several others on the bus.
i bet when no one was looking, he knew full well how to do it just like this, the stinker.

(18,486 posts)A co-worker told me one day his wife was out of town and he was responsible for doing their 8-year-old daughter's hair and he didn't do so well.
"Does she look awful?" I asked him.
"Her hair's a mess, but she's so beautiful, it doesn't matter."
We hear so much negativity about black fathers, so I love these stories, which represent the majority of our black daddies (including mine, who never could manage my hair).

I honestly thought it was going to be another creepy Trump and Ivanka picture. Very happy to see that there are fathers who love their daughters in non-creepy ways.
