(21,129 posts)Following this event, 120,000 individuals registered with Womens March on NYC to continue receiving information about womens rights and future events. An additional 33,000 registered to follow Womens March on NYC on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Because of this public demand for continued information, education, and events that support human rights, the Womens March on NYC created the nonprofit Womens March Alliance (WMA) whose mission is to raise womens voices through education and activism. We will equip our communities with the tools necessary to demand change and defend our rights.

(21,129 posts)In 2017, the Washington organizers appropriated the words of a prominent woman leader without attribution, determined that a sister who had recently run for president should be "disappeared" by prohibiting any mention of or reference to her name, and then invited the slovenly Michael Moore to give his mansplain' speech on what the wimenfolk are doin' all wrong.
And that was before the antisemitism.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
