For anyone who doesn't get it, the GOP are our deadly enemies

Let me put this clearly as possible.

Today's Republican Party is the deadly enemy of human decency and American Democracy.

They don't give a flying shit about your well-being, your job security, your standard of living, your children, your health, your minimum wage, your retirement, -- or even your very existence.

Understand this: THEY DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOU. You and I are nothing to them except cheap labor, unless they can find it cheaper, elsewhere.

Oh, and as for you people who constantly vote for Republicans, I'm including you as those who are getting fucked every day of your lives. You just don't "get it." Do you understand what Republicans are? Do you understand what they're doing to you? Some of those you vote for are among the most ignorant, uncaring, greedy, cruel people in existence. But they are fucking you, as well as almost everyone you know, and as well as most Americans.

If you are unable to do anything else to affect your life, remember this. Don't ever, ever vote for a Republican for anything. Some of them don't know it, but most of them do. Their mission in life is to, at a minimum, fuck you, and at a maximum, to destroy you.

Voting for Democrats and putting them in power to the maximum extent, everywhere, won't make the world into a Utopia. But, at a bare minimum, you will be voting for people who care about you and will do their best to make this a better world for all of us.

Note: This OP is derived from a reply I posted on another thread. It's just more succinct and to the point.

Republicans don’t care about you, ever, but they will scratch each other’s backs, but only because they benefit financially on a personal level. They are working in a conspiracy to reduce you to the status of a economic enslavement so they can extract more lucre out of your labor while paying you as little as they can, and they resent even that small amount.

"There is so much good in the worst of us, and so much bad in the best of us, that it ill behooves any of us to find fault with the rest of us." I remember my children, who learned that saying in the first or second grade in school, recited it to me sometime during the last millennium.

Having said that, I believe the Republicans in Congress are wrong in protecting a President who most likely would not have gotten elected had it not been for the Russian interference and their spreading of innuendos regarding our candidate of choice. They may also be wrong in many other ways, too many to recount. But you are aware of those and so am I. I am frustrated and disappointed over what is currently transpiring in Washington; and from your post I am sure you are too.

However, by what you are writing, and the manner and wording of how you make your point, you are also showing your colors, the colors of our times. And those times are not good. These times are often filled with blind hatred and with disrespect for fellow citizens who do not think exactly like we do. I believe that is not good, because it cannot and will not bring about a solution to our problems. It is indeed like a pilot, flying blind, and having lost orientation, unknowingly allowing the plane to go into a deadly spiral toward the ground.

There are certain Republican leaders in congress which may in many ways fit your description. But I hope there are others which are mere followers who have either no opinion of their own or have an opinion and fear to express it. There are many things in our society that are not perfect. It should be an endeavor of all of us to fix what is broken. That takes diplomacy to get people on the bandwagon, to get them to work for a best possible solution. We must recognize that to stand united, compromise is imperative.

Unfortunately, though we call ourselves "Americans", our government has evolved into a two party system. But that is not the worst of it. There are many more than two political views, different ways to achieve an ideal life for everyone. The worst thing in my view is that we label ourselves either as Republicans or as Democrats when we go to vote. By doing that, we devalue what we really are or should be: citizens of the United States of America. I always strive to be that and hope that others can do that too.

Wed Jan 1, 2020, 06:21 PM
Jan 2020

The division between US and THEM has been made for us, by THEM.

In any Democratic solution there is a belief in Human Rights, which allows a willingness to believe what one wants to believe. It is when someone tries to force it on the rest of us that the differences emerge.

If someone doesn't want to have an abortion, they don't have to. Yet THEY are determined to turn any woman who wants control over her own body, and who does, or anyone who helps in any way, into a criminal, and punished as THEY see fit.

If THEY want to keep their women barefoot, ignorant and pregnant, the only ones who can stop them are THOSE women. No democrat would ever try to push that status on ANY woman. If THEY want to keep their women as property and subservient to them, the only ones who can stop them are THOSE women. Those women know that there are other options available to them, but they have to be willing to make the choice, and whatever sacrifice is necessary, to attain that for themselves. We can help, but we can't force them. We CAN try to prohibit them forcing their beliefs, however misguided, on anyone else.

But the democratic party would never support forcing anyone to live under a political system that WOULD.

If THEY don't want to have a same sex relationship, then they don't have to have one. But they are determined to use a (questionably sourced) religious reference to force their interpretation on the rest of us. There should be NO religion in politics. Separation of church and state is ALREADY in the constitution.

THEY have turned current relevant political discourse into arguments for white supremacy, making all non-whites the enemy to be shunned, deported, even killed.

Democrats are the BIG tent party, and we are proud of it. Our big tent allows freedom of personal thought/opinion with the understanding that NO ONE can be forced to give up their Human Rights to please those who DON'T BELIEVE IN THOSE HUMAN RIGHTS.

THEY are the "whites only" tent, and THEY are proud of it. They are the "so-called" Christians, who, if Jesus (who would NOT fall into their "white" category) did come back, would be persecuted by those very same "so-called" Christians.

The lines have been clearly drawn. This is a fight to the death for the country, and possibly for our lives.

I have no interest in trying to find the good in ANYONE who will still identify themselves with an R behind their name, because THEY KNOW the new (and, allegedly, improved) definition of what that R means.

Maintaining the optimistic outlook that "there is good in them" ignores everything they say and show to us, every day.

We need to take off the blinders and do what needs to be done.

edit for grammar

But in politics, it's a great way to get stabbed in the back.

We have acted more or less according to that principle for forty years and look where it has gotten us. We simply cannot afford it any more.

If a Republican shows me some good behavior, I will acknowledge and praise it and make every effort not to look surprised. But it isn't even the people who are the problem so much as the princuples of the party. If nothing else, we must admit that tose principles kill people, and we must fight or be prepared to die.

"But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason for this, there’s a reason education SUCKS, and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, EVER be fixed.

It’s never going to get any better, don’t look for it, be happy with what you’ve got.

Because the owners, the owners of this country don't want that. I'm talking about the real owners now, the BIG owners! The Wealthy… the REAL owners! The big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians. They are irrelevant. The politicians are put there to give you the idea that you have freedom of choice. You don't. You have no choice! You have OWNERS! They OWN YOU. They own everything. They own all the important land. They own and control the corporations. They’ve long since bought, and paid for the Senate, the Congress, the state houses, the city halls, they got the judges in their back pockets and they own all the big media companies, so they control just about all of the news and information you get to hear. They got you by the balls.

They spend billions of dollars every year lobbying, lobbying, to get what they want. Well, we know what they want. They want more for themselves and less for everybody else, but I'll tell you what they don’t want:

They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well informed, well educated people capable of critical thinking. They’re not interested in that. That doesn’t help them. Thats against their interests.

Thats right. They don’t want people who are smart enough to sit around a kitchen table and think about how badly they’re getting fucked by a system that threw them overboard 30 fucking years ago. They don’t want that!

You know what they want? They want obedient workers. Obedient workers, people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork. And just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly shitty jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money. They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street, and you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all from you sooner or later cause they own this fucking place! It's a big club, and you ain’t in it! You, and I, are not in the big club.

By the way, it's the same big club they use to beat you over the head with all day long when they tell you what to believe. All day long beating you over the head with their media telling you what to believe, what to think and what to buy. The table has tilted folks. The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care! Good honest hard-working people; white collar, blue collar it doesn’t matter what color shirt you have on. Good honest hard-working people continue, these are people of modest means, continue to elect these rich cock suckers who don’t give a fuck about you….they don’t give a fuck about you… they don’t give a FUCK about you.

They don’t care about you at all… at all… AT ALL. And nobody seems to notice. Nobody seems to care. Thats what the owners count on. The fact that Americans will probably remain willfully ignorant of the big red, white and blue dick thats being jammed up their assholes everyday, because the owners of this country know the truth.

It's called the American Dream, because you have to be asleep to believe it."

Realizing they had to gerrymander , and use their positions to abuse their power to remove people from the voting roles would be their chance to win , Then putin very likely hacked into their system to uncover their crimes , and funneled money into their campaigns and pockets, and then they've become completely corrupted, and compromised. trump and the GOP are now working for putin, spreading his propaganda , destroying our Democracy, the rule of law, and have declared war on the truth. They now lie and try to con the American people into believing good is bad, the truth us a lie, and only they will help and protect you, but again they lie and its the opposite of the truth. As long as people ignore the truth this country will destroy itself, from its own people allowing this to continue. trump has to continue to back and promote a murderer, a corrupt criminal who has him so compromised he has no choice. Now we see trump get caught trying to bribe and extort a weaker country into doing illegal acts for him to rig the election for him, and russians are meeting trump in the oval office for him to give them information , and get bribe money for his and the GOP's upcoming elections. Do trump supporters really want putin and his puppet corrupting our country , our government , and corrupting our rule of law here now? Is trump now trying to bribe and corrupt the Supreme Courts justices now, I'd bet on that already happening .trump and the GOP have to be fully held accountable , and all who are involved, or next time it will destroy this country. They need to made an example of them for their corruption, all of them. Not let off the hook and without consequences. Corruption has to be stopped.

I don't believe that point can be overstated.

No, we will never have use for scum like Lindsey Graham, Mitch McTurtle, Kevin McCarthy, Louie Gohmert and their clones. But there are people un the Republican Party who are lower echelon, who never evolved (or, rather devolved) into the cavemen now running things at the national level.

Case in point, I was on a political panel 3 days ago, and was listening to a guy with an Hispanic name. He was from L.A. and was going on about how awful today’s Republican party was, and he didn’t see how they ever intended to save themselves from the current abyss. He then astounded me by saying he was the former police chief of L.A. and considered himself a conservative Republican. Here was a guy who thirty seconds ago was agreeing with everything I said.

I don’t know what to think about guys like this. I doubt we can get them all to join us, but they also feel totally divorced from the current direction and leadership of their party. But I know one thing. The guy is not scum, and if I get back to L.A., I will take him up on his request that I get in touch and meet up. Keeping in touch with this rare breed of Republican is our only hope of pushing back against the crazies, because they will sometimes listen to members of their own party, where they will never listen to us.

Every day I hear how we are supposed to abandon the left wing of our party to reach out to Trump voters.

Why are Trumpkins so much more important than Democrats?
