Know what my favorite moment of last night was?

After Clinton's speech, Rachel was talking with Ezra Klein about how it was so effective because of all the policy details... and he mentioned that he had an understanding that tonight Obama's speech would also go policy heavy.

That's all I've been wanting to hear all week. The country already knows Obama can give a hugely amazing inspirational speech, he needs to remind them he also has things under control and knows what he's doing. Clinton saying it is one thing, Obama personally putting it on display is a whole other thing. If he pulls off anything remotely similar to what Bill did last night it's game over for any undecideds watching.

won't be watching.

They are "undecideds" because they haven't been paying attention.

is being able to communicate with like minded people. the pitfall (small and totally worth it) is it might give one the impression that LOTS of people pay as much attention to this stuff as we do.

They are retired, not political and until recently didn't even vote. But this week - they are glued to the TV and are paying attention. We've been having the best conversations!

But it gave me countless opportunities to spring a fact on someone, make a point. Over the years we might even change a few minds.
