Something doesn't smell right

We are to believe that Iran posed a huge imminent threat, but yet the Iranian response to the assassination of their top general was to fire some rockets that didn't really hit anything?

All of a sudden in Trump's eyes we're even; and he doesn't have to respond. How convenient for Trump that he doesn't have to lose face by not responding after all his bluster. Yep, all good.

Call me a skeptic, but I'm wondering how much of a threat we were actually under to begin with. Certainly all of Iran's "evil" didn't exist in just one individual general.

I tend to think Putin is playing both Iran and Trump.

Yashar Ali's take is that they'll wait before going after soft targets (ones that would be proportional to the killing of Soleimani):

When the Saudi oil refinery was attacked, 17 of the 19 missiles fired hit the intended target! This attack was the Iranians saying "we can hit your bases if we choose to"...anywhere in the region!

As for the constant line of Putin playing both sides...there's nothing to support that, yet!

11. I don't believe a thing coming from this administration. How could you? He pulled out
Wed Jan 8, 2020, 04:38 PM

of the Iran deal simply because the previous administration passed it. We have two choices with Iran. The first is to use diplomacy which is what the deal was about and the other is war. He knows that war is unacceptable so now that he has backed us in a corner he would love to pass another "deal" that he can take credit for - remember everything is all about Trump. He wants the EU to pull out of the deal so he can start a new one and claim victory. The man is not fit for public office and you simply cannot trust anything he says.

The biggest issue facing us now is "What do the American people think". I would have never thought that "W" would have been re-elected after going to war with Iraq for no reason but I was wrong. The world we live in today is all about sound bites - just a simple statement can move financial markets up or down - no basis or reason these days. I have no problem with the market going up but worry it is not based upon fundamentals but rather just a group of con men.

No one in this administration, the Republican Party, the political media is to be trusted as far as I could throw any Republican white male across Lake Erie.

When nothing but lies is the agenda every minute of every day and the media follows reality show mentality, it is impossible to know what is actually going on.

That’s what plagues our souls.
Even trying to be well informed ends up being pummeled by lies, manipulation and just damned corrupt men playing obnoxious, life threatening games.

The “smell” level is gag worthy.
