MacDill Air Force Base in Florida is locked down after reports of an active shooter on the base.

3. When you leave MacDill you are almost immediately in one of the worst areas of Tampa.
Very high drug use area. Crack dealers can be attracted by walking back and forth on the sidewalk in front of any one of a number of apartment complexes. It's literally that bad. Gun shots are not the most uncommon thing. I don't recall hearing them ever not know the shot or shots were fired in the surrounding area.
Orlando is not local and I don't see it mentioned in the article you linked. Looks like the Tampa ABC affiliate that you have linked which is local. |

4. I protested against the Bush Iraq war at MacDill, it was a shabby area. The police were treating us
like terrorists.

5. I worked right near the entrance to the base for a long time.
The corner of Gandy and Dale Mabry. I was a real piece of work at that time and made the most of the surrounding area.
The police in that area treat most people like shit and they get the same in return. |
