I think the reason public opinion is against Trump's handling if Iran is because the Iraq War

was such a disaster and most Americans including a lot of Republicans were able to see right through the BS Trump was attempting. Had we never had the Iraq quagmire I think it would have worked well for Trump. This shows that wagging the dog is no longer a sure bet. Not to mention that Trump ran on getting us out of the Middle East and ripping Bush on the Iraq disaster. Most thinking people are getting completely fed up with his criminal behavior.

start a war with Iran to help with his re-election, 8 years ago.

I know "there is always a tweet" but that one is a fucking doozy, and a lot of people saw/heard about it/were reminded of it in the same exact articles/shows which informed them of the air-strike in the first place.

It isn't as far in the past as Vietnam or Watergate are so maybe since it is relatively recent history it has stuck in our memory banks longer.

Therefore they see no need for military attacks, especially from aircraft firing missiles into cars. Trump and his people just needed a moral booster event and a new layer of bullshit for his rallies. Now, close to 250 people are dead as a result.

A reasonable percentage of our public have studied Iran history a bit and feel we should be trying to use diplomacy to re-establish a cooled-down relationship with them to help bring peace to the Middle East. That's what we did on an international level to achieve the historic JCPA nuclear agreement. We'll likely never be bosom buddies with Iran but at least we can be civil and agree to disagree.

It's only Republicans that have been brain washed to believe Iran is a forever-irreconcilable enemy......
