Trump administration knows how bad things are for 2020. So they are hiding and delaying bad news.

The Trump administration has asked the SCOTUS to delay the case until after the election.

KNOWING that:

The case could have major political implications because the results sought by the Republican states and the Trump administration would cause substantial disruptions. According to estimates from the Urban Institute, around 20 million more Americans would become uninsured because of the elimination of the law’s coverage expansions and protections for Americans with pre-existing health conditions.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/10/upshot/obamacare-lawsuit-delay-sought-trump-republicans.html

Additionally, Secretary of the Treasury is Steven Mnuchin is delaying reporting how much Trump's golf outings have cost the taxpayers since he took office.

The government spent about $96 million on travel by Obama over eight years, according to documents obtained by the conservative group Judicial Watch. A report by the Government Accountability Office, which serves as the congressional watchdog on federal spending, estimated that Trump’s travel cost $13.6 million in just one month in early 2017. That total included the costs of travel for Secret Service and Defense Department personnel and the costs of renting space and operating equipment such as boats and planes. If spending continued at that pace, Trump would have exceeded Obama’s total expenses before the end of his first year in office

Forbes.com suggests Trump's Golf Trips Could Cost Taxpayers Over $340 Million for his first term.

is that he'll have spent somewhere around $650 million (including but not limited to golf) by the end of 2020. By the way, does this include protection for Jared, Ivanka, Don Jr., Eric, etc...?

One report alone for Eric cost $97,000 for a trip to Uruguay.

The Trump cabal is stealing the treasury blind. And apparently it is an "Inside Job" because Secretary of the Treasury is Steven Mnuchin is complicit with this as he is hiding the golf expenses to date.

all the time and can't be trusted to tell the truth about anything. Ever. Same goes for McConnell and Barr.

I doubt the HRC campaign ever understood that, and they did not, for whatever reason, have the credibility to denounce Trump. She tried, in debates, warning voters, but to little avail.

I think that's why Biden is gaining traction. He calls Trump a liar, and calls out his lies. It's now an open topic so it makes for good sound bites.

But the media is complicit. Not just Fox, but NYT too. They will print the slant of the crooks. Must be about money, listening to the roots of NYC.

340 MILLION dollars in the first term. 1/3 of a billion of taxpayer money. Let that sink in. 1/3 of a billion dollars flushed down the toilet. But Magats don't care. Just as long as he shits on the people they hate...which is damn near everyone but themselves...they don't care how much of THEIR tax dollars he blows. To be honest, I can't decide who's worse. The orange con, the spawn or the gutter trash who support him. I guess I despise their existence equally.

light of serious declines in auto saless, new home sales, new home construction and other leading indicators of a rapidly slowing economy. I have no doubt that with trumpians in control of the government, they like him lie about EVERYTHING!

Power is all they seek, as in retaining any power the R-scums now have and will defend by cheating, lying and more.

Sears, Macy’s, Forever 21, Dress Barn , Pier one imports, and Frys electronics. You walk a mall these days and there are less and less open stores. That’s a lot of people out of jobs from clothing manufacturing, supply chains and transportation.

You can see the slowing down right before your yes, the economy is not booming but getting closer to the cliff.

Jan 2020

... do we get those things heard and taken seriously. This is not a knock on Dems and dems alone. It is a fact of how today's politics works.

Citizen United not only fed millions ...no billions of dark money in politics but it made the value of our financial influence near worthless.

If you are a politician in today's world who gets your attention the person with the $5, $50, $500, $5000, $50,000 dollar check in hand.

My guess is at $500 you might get a nice smile, at $5000 a nice smile, handshake and added to call often list, at $50,000 you get the politician's right-hand, PA, or body man's direct cell number. From there, your guess is as good as mine.

The point is we have little or no chance of dozens of great ideas ever being heard or acted on. Frustrating to say the least.

25. He also wants to cut social security and Medicare in his second term
Sat Jan 11, 2020, 01:13 PM
Jan 2020

Sen. John Thune (R-SD), the second-ranking Senate Republican, expressed hope to the New York Times that Trump would be “interested” in reforming Social Security and Medicare. Sen. John Barrasso (R-WY) was even more optimistic. “We’ve brought it up with President Trump, who has talked about it being a second-term project,” Barrasso said. Senate Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has made no secret of wanting to cut Social Security.

In using deficit fears to target entitlement programs, many Republicans are hoping to use Trump's second term to cut Medicare and Social Security. First, expand deficits through tax cuts, then declare that spending must be slashed. The chief target of these proposed cuts is Social Security, which historians have noted the mainstream Republican party has long sought to diminish, privatize, or both.
