What Could Make the Senate Impeachment Trial Go Away Instantly?

Just one thing: Trump's resignation.

Nothing else could do that. Well, the Senate Republicans, led by Moscow Mitch McConnell, really wish they didn't have that impeachment trial, with all of its complications and media attention coming up right now. Nancy Pelosi is about to drop the Articles of Impeachment off in the Senate chambers forthwith, so it's going to be time to fish or cut bait for Mitch and Lindsey.

Awkward, that. The evidence is piling up, with no real end in sight. The House is going to keep right on investigating stuff and handing it over. It looks like there are enough rogue Republicans to bring in witnesses and documents for the trial. Not good news for GOP leadership in the Senate.

So, what to do?

Meanwhile, Putin has thrown out his entire government, in preparation for something. Has he sent the word to Mitch and Lindsey about what he'd like them to do? Could be.

Something's about to happen. Something that will change the entire direction of all this, I think.

Watch the headlines. Be prepared for something amazing and incredible to occur.

MineralMan predicts big news! I don't do that often.

He likely figures as long as he remains President nothing can happen to him. So resigning is not an option.

If Trump is out of the White House, a huge sigh of relief will go up. I'd consider it likely that the state cases would fade away. Just get that man out of our house!

Notice all the stories about Pompeo doing a cancel in front of a House Committee. As a old acquaintance said about working in D.C.,you never piss off the Staffers on Capital Hill. They run the show and they will cause the demise of the irritation.

They control all and I mean all the Information Flow to every Member.

I think it may have an impact on the impeachment here. But what impact, I'm not sure. Putin is going to be busy for a while. I wonder if he's tempted to cut Trump loose and get rid of that distraction. A resignation would take care of that.

Make the prime minister more powerful, take over that role while some puppet warms the presidential chair for 4 years, then have another two term stint as president. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Because, I know this won’t happen, I’d love to see him testify.
I can see a scenario where he gets all blustery and demands to testify “Because only I know the real truth and I’ll convince you, believe me, you’ll come out saying, “Sir, I really do think you’re innocent.”.
He’ll hang himself inside of two minutes. The spectacle would be so entertaining.

Too many other entities are after him. He can try to cut deals but I don't think he even knows how many ways he has screwed himself. And a fed pardon a la Gerald Ford with Nixon doesn't help with the SDNY among others. Of course a non extradition country . . . maybe Russia . . .Any deal he cuts has to include an ironclad gag order no tweeting no talking to interviews nothing we have all heard far too much from him!
