The Pardon Conundrum

Heres a hypothetical...

Trump loses the election in November. Between that time and when the new President takes office, Trump resigns making Pence the new POTUS. Pence then immediately grants Trump and all the players in this shitshow a presidential pardon for all crimes committed...

Is there ANYTHING that can be done to these crooks if that plays out?

They are going to do anything to save their necks and I wouldnt put this past them

The constitution itself doesn't limit a potus in the granting of pardons, and the scotus would eventually have to rule onn any challenges to pardons, but...

If the act of granting a pardon obstructs justice, the person issuing the pardon could be charged. Since pence is a co-conspirator, granting pardons to people who could otherwise implicate him would be considered obstruction.

Now can a potus pardon themselves? Another question for scotus.

As for nys, don't underestimate the power of the doj to break things. They are surely harassing the prosecutors and governor with investigations. They know exactly what evidence nys has and could somehow pollute it. They can try to make it impossible for trump to get a fair trial and rig for dismissal.

Congress may have to pass a new law just to get some justice after all of this is over.
