Republicans will present their opinions, about the Constitution and about the authority of the Executive. They will not want to deal with the facts.

One should be preferable over the other.

However, they will have equal standing in the eye of the public. Perceptions will be very important. Few minds will likely be changed by the trial

In the end, the Senate is likely to acquit Donald Trump. Repubs will be left with 9 months of further evidence to deal with, before they stand for re-election. No one expects the spigot to be turned off once the trial is over.
The scandal will continue at a more rapid pace.

1. out of public view - on a very rushed schedule

Cameras, even c-span and microphones are being removed. The rules were changed to allow 24 hours to present each sides opening arguments but only give each side 48 hours to use that time.

Witnesses and documents may not be allowed. In any event, they won't be televised and transcripts will be at moscows discretion.

There could still be a vote to dismiss immediately.

So the only part the public will see will be what the house or trumps lawyers release. It will take someone an hour to read the house charging document.

Corporate media isn't digging into it. They are asking lindsey and dersh questions.

I am pissed, but i get the feeling I'm alone.

2. drumpf & repugs are cheating ahead of time with pretending that a witness is part of the team.

Attorneys only make opening statements, they don't give treatises on their opinion (idiotic or not) of the law - in this case the constitution. Witnesses do that.

Why doesn't drumpf just die of pure meanness and being a total waste of space on this earth?
