John Brennan:"33 years in public service, never heard a government lawyer so misrepresent the facts"

John O. Brennan ✔ @JohnBrennan

During more than 33 years in public service, I never heard a government lawyer so misrepresent the facts & deceive the American public as WH Counsel Pat Cipollone just did in the Senate impeachment trial. Further evidence of the contagion of Mr. Trump’s dishonesty & corruption.

Walter Shaub ✔@waltshaub

Cipollone, whose conduct in withholding records and testimony may be unprecedented, has the audacity to complain that Schiff wouldn't give him documents. Then, he says Schiff is the hypocrite. This gas lighting is too much to take.

Just about everyone on twitter is saying the same thing - Cipollone and Sekulow lied in front of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

He has no real power because the Senate can override his rulings with votes.

Whataboutism, also known as whataboutery, is a variant of the tu quoque logical fallacy that attempts to discredit an opponent's position by charging them with hypocrisy without directly refuting or disproving their argument. It is particularly associated with Soviet and Russian propaganda
