Description of Body language of the GOP Senators

I have a friend on Capital Hill who was sitting in gallery watching the trial and is watching the Senators. Here are a few of his descriptions and what the cameras don’t show us.

“Watching the body language of the Senators is amazing. Ted Cruz and Cassidy looked like they wanted to go to a titty bar and were fidgeting. Grassley was old school Senate, listening and taking notes. McConnell looked ready to crawl into a hole when Schiff was talking, but perked up and was smirking when the WH counsels were up.

I think Romney was taking it seriously. Gardner didn’t look like he wanted to be there. Maybe he’s seeing his career going up in smoke. “

It's their votes that will matter.

I'm oddly hopeful that four or five Republicans will do the right things.

I'm probably foolish to feel this way.
