The kavanaugh hearings, that I figured I’ve space-banked some points against her for this. I’ve contributed to Gideon on her own merits recently. Depending on how this goes, I may turn my sights squarely on collins. Today? I was out to telegraph how much I despise Moscow Midnight Mitch and his ways.

Totaled up to a big single day of contributions for me, and I’m fine with that. I’ve nixxed a lot of mindless consumerist purchases already over the tRump years and have room in the budget for contributions.

He showed two previously redacted emails from McCusker, produced through FOIA requests, dated August 9 and early September expressing concern over the hold up in funding.

they voted tonight NOT to subpoena mulvaney. does that mean his appearance is dead, or does it mean he MIGHT be called later after the managers "present their case" if senators decide then that he needs to be herd from? i thought i read some want the case presented before they vote to allow documents and witnesses?

The Democrats want to avoid the Lucy and the football bait/switch and try for the amendments now - and get the case out there at the beginning because by the time that they might be allowed to do it at the end (IF the GOP vunerables abide by a promise to allow), then the public would have probably already tuned out by then.

Impeachment hearings/trials (and actually any hearings) ARE "boring" (really) and the media hypes them up and then has the talking heads tear them down... and the public eventually tunes out.

For Democrats, it was pretty much "do or die" with the assumption that this might be their only chance to not only get the info to the public but to their own Senators, many of who have not or could not get into the minutia of the House inquiry (and thus needed enough compiled info to talk to constituents about). And it was made worse by Turtle continually changing the Rules resolution on-the-fly in order to ram it through like he's done those judges.

This day (and now, night) reveals an incredible amount of work in a short period of time. Staffers have to be a little frazzled by now, but the work product is ready-made for dissemination in print, tv, and Internet.
