Jerry Nadler Storms The Senate And Accuses Republicans Of Treacherous Cover-Up For Trump
House impeachment manager Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) took the Senate by storm after midnight ET and accused Republicans of a treacherous cover-up for Trump.
Nadler said:
A real trial, we know, has witnesses. We urge you to do your duty, permit a fair trial. All trials have witnesses thats elementary in American justice. Either you want the truth, and you must permit the witnesses, or you want a shameful cover-up. History will judge, and so will the electorate.

As the trial moved toward its 12th consecutive hour, because Mitch McConnell wont postpone the votes until tomorrow, Jerry Nadlers remarks were a jolt of caffeine wrapped in the American flag.
Nadler summed it up perfectly. Cynical Republican Senators think that they can speed through this trial, let Trump off of the hook, and voters will forget, but the voters are going to remember. Just like they remembered, the effort to kill Obamacare before the 2018 election.
Republicans never learn. The bill for this Trump cover-up will come due on Election Day in November.

While a tampered, meddled-with election is a distinct possibility, a cancelled election is not going to happen.

There is no mechanism, short of altering the Constitution, for cancelling a Presidential election.

(6,616 posts)53 Senators now inextricably part of the cover-up.
53 votes for kangaroo trial (apologies to kangaroos).
53 betrayals of the Oath they took.
On a brighter note, 47 Senators honored their Oath and truly served our country, our Constitution, and us. Thank you!

(21,256 posts)but he reported Sandusky to the higher ups. He died and the higher ups hired Freeh to lay all of the blame on JoPa.
Law enforcement also knew about Sandusky and Governor Corbett assigned a rookie to investigate Sandusky and all he gave him was a desk.
Paterno did more than Gym Jordan. tOSU never gets in trouble, why?
Michigan State covered up for a sexual predator and never got in trouble, why?

Roberts is how we got here to this UN-deliberative body. Suddenly he-who-sits-in-judgment can't handle the appropriate give-and-take of this historical moment within a legislative chamber.
Voters will not forget. We won't let them.
