Washington D.C., Jan 16, 2020 / 02:00 pm (CNA).- Vice President Mike Pence will travel to the Vatican next week to meet with Pope Francis.

Pence’s office confirmed with CNA on Thursday that the Vice President is scheduled to be received by the Pope during his overseas trip next week. No details have yet been released about the topics that might be discussed at the meeting.

The Vice President’s visit comes immediately after the U.S. religious freedom ambassador traveled to Vatican City for the launch of the Abrahamic Faiths Initiative, held on Tuesday at the official residence of the U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See, Callista Gingrich.

"For Thine is the Kingdom, the power and the glory forever and ever." You know, Pence being a rep of "The Chosen One"s first thought on awakening and all...

I really don't think Pence is there for the penultimate "Bless me Father, for I have sinned alongside your lusty Dominionists of faith", and a response similar to "How many days since your last Confession, my Machiavellian heretic son; has that old Devil laid in wait for your soul?"

NOTE: Purposely irreverent! Maybe the Vatican has available secret slush funds and even more secure history-changing document servers where they keep the dirt on Biden?

- even referring to Secretary Kerry as President Obama's "ambassador of peace". Though he - like any leader Trump or Pence meet - will likely treat him with the respect due the US -- something tells me the pictures will not show the genuine happiness of those Obama era pictures.
