It's my understanding that they will not dignify these proceedings by acknowledging that they have any merit at all. Providing exculpatory documents and witnesses would do that. Plus it would require actual work, which Trump's lawyers are not interested in doing.

Voting on that will happen after opening arguments today. We need 4 GOP votes. I've been told GOPer Cornyn is open to it, by one of his staffers.

allow gop / trump witnesses but not dem / peoples witnesses. And they can vote to allow any evidence they want to add - but probably fake, and will support the gop arguments.

They could even allow deep fake videos without allowing dems to review them ahead of time.

It's their party. They call the tunes.
