Chuck Schumer blasts GOP for impeachment trial 'charade'

Sen. Chuck Schumer denounced Republicans Wednesday for turning President Trump’s impeachment trial into a “charade” — but suggested that a last-minute rules tweak offers hope for a fairer process.

The Democratic minority leader accused Sen. Mitch McConnell of trying to prevent a fair trial with evidence from documents and witnesses.

“If there’s one thing we learned from the series of votes on the Senate floor, it’s that leader McConnell and Senate Republicans don’t want a fair trial that considers all the evidence,” Schumer told a press conference just hours before House managers were expected to begin their arguments.

Schumer blasted McConnell’s rules package as an “Alice in Wonderland” effort to set the stage for a trial with no evidence from key witnesses like fired National Security Adviser John Bolton and Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney.

portraying shithole as a victim, witch hunt, and Democrats hate him. That's all they got. They can not defend him on the merits of the impeachment. When it is their turn this is what they will be repeating over and over again while throwing bullshit conspiracies in the mix. It will only work on their base.
