That's why it was important not to give them a pivot point, like allowing a Biden to testify.

We all know it's irrelevant bullshit, and it will just make the GOP look even worse

Nadler saying that last night. I haven't seen what Nadler said. Maybe Schiff's comment is not so direct and accusation?

If he's actually awake, it's a problem. If he's napping, no biggie?

No way, no how. Don't do it. I'm actually disgusted by the idea of throwing any democrat under the bus for the GOP.

he wants to testify. They probably would ask next to nothing of Biden, that required an answer, but would instead go off on riff after riff about the evils of the Bidens, and poor misunderstood Donald.

... Cruz (or any other Republican) exactly how Hunter Biden's testimony would be in any way relevant to the proceedings.

I understand the motive - i.e. hoping to make this about Bidens instead of Trump. But I'd like to hear the GOP explain how either Biden could possibly have any knowledge about the events, actions, or behaviour of those involved.

A subpoena has to set out, in detail, why an individual's testimony is being compelled and how it is directly relevant to the case at hand.

What could the Republicans say? "He's got no connection to any of this, but we want him to testify anyway."

Not a viable legal argument by any stretch.
