... skeered of cause like Klein just said on Chris Hayes show Bolton isn't going to say anything different that what Red Don has already admitted to.

It's what someone will say a month before the election that makes the house reopen the case against Red Don they're skeered of.

If they don't handle it now they'll be blamed for not handling it 2 months before the election.

toward the future like that? Hell, Trump's been a loose cannon from day 1. He's committed impeachable offenses since day 1. He's just lucky NP decided not to follow up. What makes now different?

It’s all going to be out soon anyway. They just want the acquittal in before the shit hits the fan.

If he isn’t allowed to testify I wouldn’t put it past Bolton to hold a news conference and let it rip.

The book hasn't been printed yet. Things could change. With these f-ers and russian money, anything can happen.

I really doubt these witnesses are going to get 67 votes for impeachment in the Senate.

So it is all about posturing for the upcoming election and retaining power at any cost so they don't go to jail

It's frightening because we really have a lawless government now. Barr & Trump will have free reign and there is nothing of substance to stop them. Barr is even defying court orders.

At this point, why will they bother to count the 2020 ballots?

My take is bolton is a hero to the war hawks in the party. Bolton painting trump as a security risk might get a rise out of that wing of the party.

That might raise the risk of some move to appease that wing.

GOPers are not above big theatrical schemes, but what argues against this being one is the fact that if he is called as a witness, it opens the door to others and delays the end of the trial. Getting Bolton to testify would soothe the public cries for witnesses. Even if he testifies favorably for Trump, it still opens the possibility for more witnesses and more delay. This will unhinge the orange one even more.

So, the noises being made by GOPers are probably genuine, but they don't necessarily mean that Bolton will provide sufficient push to oust the menace. The delay will provide more time for the giant beast of public temper to grow. We need that. There is a lag between the time facts emerge and the bulk of the public reacts.
