Why do the most horrifying thoughts come at 3 am?

I awoke in the middle of the night with the thought that the fix is in for November.

We just witnessed a very public spectacle of dozens of members on the republican senate conspire together to ignore the rule of law and push through a sham, almost Kafkian, “trial”.

All the media and 75% of this nation have basically voiced revenge come November to vote them out.

But what if they don’t care? What if they already know the outcome, no matter what the actual vote turns out to be?

Maybe this is the reason they give zero fucks now.

3AM thoughts scare the shit out of me

We should all proceed on that assumption. They just messaged MF45 that he is free to accept any and all foreign interference into the 2020 election without fear of political retribution.

They just blew up the ballot box.

Fear is the mindkiller---fear keeps you from doing what is most needed, fear cripples and freezes the will.

Don't give into fear. It ain't over yet.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past, I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone, there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

a person to have more anxiety, which of course, can lead to more insomnia or early awakenings. And some of us are more prone to anxiety anyway.

Try to get some exercise during the day, avoid excesses of alcohol before bedtime, and maybe find something completely entertaining which is off-topic, nonpolitical to watch or read before going to bed. This has worked for me, and I also have plenty to worry about. I hope this helps. If it doesn't improve and your sleeplessness affects your standard of living, you might want to talk to a professional counselor. And for some, a low dose of anti-anxiety medicine helps.

But you are right: the fix is in. We must remain both vigilant and proactive.

9. You just had that thought now? I've been living with that dread for much longer...

It dampens every small victory. I just assumed everyone feared it. I have to hope there are people who are in a position to know and have the skills to counter the bad acts. They can't be successful. People are fighting from the inside and leaking information. They will be discovered. We need to anticipate everything and have pre-planned responses...

I'm hoping we have cyber defenders who are equal to the task.
