We were only a fledgling democracy when Benedict Arnold betrayed our country and it's hard to say how much influence he had in raising patriotic fervors?
We were a mature democracy, when corruption led to lawlessness which led to Mitch McConnell betraying our country.

But we will always remember this time when lock stock, rePuticans turned their backs on the United States.
