Trump just got the green light to steal the election ... again

Anyone who thinks he won't try to steal this year's election with the help of Putin, Republican thugs, and who knows who else, is not paying attention.

We've crossed the line from disaster into the very real possibility of some insane, imminent "fascist Utopia."

My guess is that most people are too busy with their own lives/problems/families, that they are virtually clueless about the horrors that could soon infect/destroy the very existence of their lives and loved ones.

It's probably always been thus. And only fools, like the quarter million of us who post here on DU, believe that common sense is some kind of built-in human trait. It's not. Children need to be taught critical thinking, which is why Republicans are against universal education.

But back to the point. America, and perhaps the whole world, is fucked beyond repair if the creature and his minions hold the presidency and the senate. And there's a damn good chance of that happening, because who's going to stop yet another Republican theft of America. If you haven't gotten it yet, your right to vote and have it counted, is a delusion in each and every Republican controlled state.

The Founding Fathers fucked us badly when they gave us the senate, which counts the ownership of land, not people. (Wyoming has 12 people. California has 40 million people. Both have two senators.)

And then there's the Electoral College bullshit that has given us about half a dozen, minority elected Republican presidents over the past half century. Republicans have turned hypocrisy and fucking America into art forms.

Democrats, we need a plan B. If the above horrors come to be, exactly what are we going to do? Watch our country become another cruel, malicious dictatorship in which the orange monster is free to eat babies and rape children? (Check out the unaccountable, insane dictator of North Korea.)

Let me say this again: IF THIS ELECTION IS STOLEN AGAIN, WE NEED PLAN B.

I was writing my post about the same time as you wrote this. We are counting on winning the most corrupt election in our history. That is plan A,B,C and D.

4. Do you suppose America will wake up if enslaved to a madman?

If history is any guide, most people go along to get along. If the worst happens, (Trump and Republicans holding the presidency and senate), going along won't mean anything.

Think, for a moment, about a totally unrestrained Trump. He can wake up one morning and decide to nuke California. Who's to stop him? The Republican Party has just told us that no one can stop him. Goodbye Norma Jean, and all the rest of you Hollywood left wing nuts. Orange Man is in charge.

5. We all need to get very real about the Republicans' intentions

We still have not come to terms with what already happened in the 2016 presidential election. Many people still do not accept that the election was hacked in key states--giving DT the electoral victory.

I may get attacked for saying this, but it looks like DT is already decided upon, not just by Republicans who have been brought into lock-step, but foreign powers that include Putin.

There is no Republican primary and DT will not debate who the Democrats nominate. He has already framed the Democrats as the enemy. He and his complicit party are stacking the courts and purging offices and institutions--replacing all with sycophants. He has just cleared that final pinnacle which kept the three branches of government separate and equal. He is unchecked and will remain so.

Even though DT is anything but religious (he is his own God) he is posturing and appointing Christian grifters and phonies in order to harness control of what will soon be ideological state apparatus. It will be a useful tool for his plans to keep much of the public dumbed down and fearful. Ditto for Fox News which is played on every military base and in every nook and cranny of our country. It appears he has social media under his control as well--again with much thanks to foreign powers and money and a far too willing-to-benefit-financially Zuckerberg.

For any of us to think that we can prevail in November and rid ourselves of the coups d'état that has already taken place is frightening. Not only would we have to show up in droves at every poll, but we would have to watchdog them all and scare away interference. If there is hacking what then? We can count on all the dirty tricks we have already suffered, but votes may be hacked, too, if there even s an election.

My guess is that if the election happens in 2020 it will only be because DT will have assurances that he will again be given the win. He would have four more years to fill the Supreme Court (RBG can't last forever) and gut the rest of the country and our Constitution. After that, he will usher in an heir who is already well-groomed to be pro-Putin's Russia.

The only hope I see is that continued criminal scrutiny of DT and his appointees will reveal so much treachery that DT's support will continue to tank. That really is all we have. The voting in November would have to be so obviously against him and complicit Republicans that there would be no way to surmount and survive it, but we have to get some honest coverage by media.

The one thing that terrifies tyrants is an irate public with everything to lose. We need to be 'woke' to the reality of where we are and where we are headed if we do not fight with every resource we have.

I’ve always scoffed at doomsayers, but I think we’re nearly at the end of the republic. It’s happened many times before to nations who thought their greatness would last forever. If I had confidence in the security of the election, I wouldn’t be worried at all, but... well, obviously, the election will NOT be secure. At all. And then what do we do? What recourse do we have?

It is time for us all to face reality. Your question "what will we do?" after facing another rigged election is an important one. I don't think we can afford to count on the election to rid us of the traitors because it will, in all likelihood, be too late. We need to do everything we can to bring the entire scheme to light right now and every single day from now on.

Number one is for the House to continue their efforts, but instead of focusing on Republicans and trying to press them to change their votes and support for DT and his agenda we should lobby the media to ask tougher questions and give fairer coverage. In spite of ownership, most media depends on ratings and ad buys. This gives a chance at least (we can approach directly and to corporate sponsors) whereas we have none with Republicans. We also need to keep up the protests, marches, and public face. This has been having an effect on many conservative citizens who are beginning to doubt DT and his appointees really care about the US. We must not give up for a second.

If we lose in November I am afraid for all our heroes and heroines who are putting up a good fight. I am afraid for our universities and schools, for our outspoken citizens, for our minorities, women, LGBTQ, disabled, disadvantaged, people struggling with medical issues, arts and sciences, our public lands and resources, our environment, our children, the separation of Church and State, our freedom, our future...everything. We can no longer claim to be a nation of laws.

This DT administration takes prisoners and is as vengeful and oppressive as can be. Payback will come and will be terrible.
