Just wondering what it is now legal for the next president to do, based on established challenges drumpf has made to the separation of powers..........
1. The president can now declare anything a national emergency and reroute funding from anywhere to combat it. On day one the next Dem president can declare a climate and gun violence emergency and begin rerouting money as they desire to combat these problems.
2. The next Dem president can use Congressionally appropriated funds to further the well-being of said Democrat by imposing demands on foreign countries to help support their presidency. A good example is the next Dem president could withdraw all financial support for Israel and leave them on their own in the middle east unless Israel turns over and and all information they have on "corrupt" activities of GOP members in Israel.
3. The next Dem president is free to work with any foreign power to create mass propaganda campaigns against the GOP outside of the election and finance laws of the US.
any others?

(21,127 posts)We can tell rebukes to STFU forever now. High deficits, getting rid of regulations that affect our air, water and food safety. Wrecking international relations, human rights violations, abuse of a Geneva conventions etc. they can no longer object as they have shown themselves to be the true hypocrites.
Only a GOP President can do any or all of these things.
Just as if Trump loses, and the GOP loses the Senate as well, the GOP will say that the most important thing to do will be to bring down the deficit by cutting social programs.
And the media will immediately focus on the deficit.

(3,546 posts)Investigate the Senate and House GOP members.
Arrest and intern GOP members that were part of the POTUS coverup.
All lawyers involved in the Trump coverup - take steps to remove their licenses. Where their licenses cannot be removed - restrict all Federal Government agencies from doing business with their firms (potential national security risk).
Freeze the assets of the RNC - until and unless they can establish that they are free of foreign entanglements.
Freeze Moscow Mitchs assets - due to RICO act - establish collusion between his assets and the Chinese government.
Intern and investigate David Nunces to determine if he was acting as a foreign agent while a member of Congress.
Provide the Iranians with Bill Barrs foreign schedule (Hahahaha).
Release Trumps taxes, school transcripts and publish all the hidden documents.
Investigate Trumps kids - release the full Mueller documents (unpredicted where possible).
Reinvestigate to verify the accuracy of our latest addition to the Supreme Court.
Declare Murdoch (Fox) a national security threat, give him $1 and a day to leave the country. Confiscate all his assets and make FOX news an independent public broadcasting venture.
Take steps to increase the size of the SCOTUS by 8 members (all very young and diverse).
Forbid by law active duty military members from the general staff from being part of the Presidents cabinet (we now understand their lack of free will due to their training).
Form another department that would be charged with oversight of high government officials corruption - charged only with ensuring our national security, independent of POTUS oversight, with absolute power.
Have a national vote that would let all the citizens determine if we should let the south succeed, failing that, if the rest of us can succeed from the South.
Then I would laugh my ass off.
<on edit> - I would provide free copies of Andrew Yangs book The War on Normal People to all citizens AND require Civics to be taught in High School again.
