OP
If I were Tlaib's campaign manager, I'd find another good qualified black MI-13 resident ...

Dearborn has a very large Arabic population which will undoubtedly support Tlaib

in the 2016 primary.

(58,488 posts)2. It's most of Detroit, Dearborn and a chunk of Western Wayne Co.
She was part of a huge, mostly African-American candidate field and wil probably lose if she goes one-on-one against Brenda Jones.

... or two, and schmooze them into running, maybe finance the kickoff. Split the vote again.

but you are absolutely correct about the AA vote in Detroit.
It needs to be an AA candidate who is pretty well known. Name recognition and incumbency are hard to overcome in Detroit based on history.

She needs to go in the primary.

(1,777 posts)6. Why? She'll be replaced by another Democrat.
She's vulnerable to a primary challenge, not a GOP candidate.

(23,321 posts)11. Yep, Republicans probably won't run a candidate in the district.
That district is gerrymandered to "pen in" a great concentration of Democratic Party voters. Repubs didn't run there in 2018, no point.

Would she boo the Democratic voters who kicked her out?
