Count up the # of times that fighting between center-left and far-left cleared the way for the right

Here’s a fun history project for the weekend: count up the number of times that fighting between center-left and far-left parties and/or candidates have cleared the way for right-wing fascist movements to gain power.

Professor Cobb is spot on. If we on the left don't get it together and stop giving ammo to the right to divide [and conquer] us, we will lose in Nov 2020.

then we deserve the consequences. It's pretty simple. We will have a binary choice and have to remember that the worst Democrat is better than the best Republican. The race is ours to lose and as history tells us...."We get the government we deserve". So stop making it personal and vote for our nominee....period.

There's no 'far left' party or faction in the US

The fight here is more LBJ Democrats vs Reagan Democrats

And Nixon proposed Obamacare long before Romneycare.

Reagan was the start of the whole trickle down BS. HW Bush actually raised taxes which allowed Clinton to further fix the budget so W could come along and blow it all up.

Imagine how different our world would be if we had taken to the streets and stormed the election offices like the Republicans did in Florida in 2000. Or if we had a fair Supreme Court that would not have appointed W president. A balanced budget, focus on global climate change, possibly no 9/11 because someone competent would be on the lookout for it.

The Democratic Party has some left, lots of moderates and a bunch of right leaning. We have now expanded further right with the Republican refugees.

The Republican Party falls more on a spectrum that is not the political one.
