A 'Happy Brexit Day' flyer demanding neighbours speak English is reported as a hate crime in Norwich



A "Happy Brexit Day" poster telling residents in a Norwich tower block that “we do not tolerate” people speaking languages other than English in the building has been reported to the police.

The note tells residents of Winchester Tower that only the “Queens [sic] English” is to be spoken in the block, and tells non-British people to “evolve”, “obey the majority”, or “leave”.

Residents who wish to speak languages other than English are told to “return” to their native countries so that British people can “return to what was normality before you infected this once great island”.

Copies of the anonymous note, posted just before the UK left the EU at 11pm on 31 January, were reportedly found stuck to the fire doors on each of the 15 storeys of Winchester Tower in Norwich on Friday morning.
