It was fun to see Jonathan Van Ness.

But the overlap between the Super Bowl audience and the "Queer Eye" audience is probably not as big as the overlap between the general population as a whole and the "Queer Eye" audience. So it should do much better in other settings, especially with a younger audience.

Also, the product itself sounds kind of weird, so that might have had something to do with it.

Congratulations to your friend's daughter for getting a Super Bowl ad gig! That's a big deal!

He had some people over whom I didn't know. My friend is a centrist leaning conservative but doesn't like trump.

Well when the commercial came on, turns out most of the people there I didn't know -loved- it. "Trump is so great", "the economy is amazing", "the price of gas is less than $2 (texas) can't beat that!"

There were too many trumpers to take on by myself.

it was mostly bullshit. All he did was sign it. He had nothing to do with it being created. It was a bipartisan Bill that was introduced By Doug Collins(R), surprisingly as he was such a dick during the House Impeachment Inquiry. It was embraced by the Dems, but a number of Repubs voted against it. So, big deal Donny, you signed it.

given a life sentence for a nonviolent drug offense being released from prison. Short, touching ad, appealing woman's gratitude at having a new chance at life. Even Trump's involvement couldn't ruin her story.

So it seems noteworthy that Trump's attempt to credit himself with this decency and to claim he undoing a lot of injustices was apparently widely disbelieved and rejected.

The ad was disgusting. Criminal Justice Reform has been promoted by the ACLU, The Innocence project, the Southern Poverty Law Center, the NAACP, People for the American Way, and others. That Trump should take "credit" for Justice Reform is a travesty and vomit-making.

Think when they figured out he wouldn't be "exonerated" by then, they pulled the real ad and made this one at the last minute with very little aforethought. It looked cheap, facile, and truly stupid. Even the way it was filmed is so cheesy. It was cheap tinsel, just like the idiot who stole the office.

And, if he gets re-elected, the charges waiting on him (remember, he's Individual1 in 1 case) won't affect him once he leaves office. They changed the rules for the statute of limitations for those charges.

a stupid commercial about how pop tarts have fixed the pretzels. Ick.

You know what's always been amazing to me? Many of the millions who watched the SB can readily engage in some very high-level analysis of virtually any sports team - strengths, weaknesses, prowess of individual athletes, quality of coaching, and statistics out the nose.

I'm sure you know people like that. I do. My ex son-in-law can tell you off the cuff how the Mizzou football team is doing, quarterback and other stats and so on. He can do this across the board - football, basketball, baseball, hockey. The guy is very sophisticated.

Until you find out he doesn't know how many justices sit on the Supreme Court, or who his US Senators or Representative are.

Remember that old cult movie Rollerball? The 1975 one with James Caan? Remember how the corporate governments kept the people in check with Rollerball, which was a substitute for war?

Not to cut down sports, though I've never been particularly interested. But basic civics is pretty goddamned important. And people just blow it off. It is appalling to me that most Americans, a HUGE majority, don't even think about what is going on with their local, state and national governments until the week of the election and then they decide based on..............what?

That's part of the reason we have fucking Trump in office. Ignorance, white supremacists and Russia. The big three, I guess.

Sigh.

His supporters wouldn't like it because they're racists. They think all African Americans should be under some kind of restraint.

And his critics wouldn't like it because they know it's just another Trump lie. He has hated African Americans his entire life, and letting an African American woman go free for a drug conviction does nothing to erase that fact.
