A friend sends me this pic, seen from a highway in the Heartland.
My first thought: How unhappy your life must be that you climbed onto a barn and painted the name of a New York billionaire who, to this moment, you still don't realize doesn't give a shit about you.

(4,459 posts)... campaigning in 2015-16. I suspect hes picked up a few hundred million since being elected. Still far short of a billion, but hes likely no longer in deep financial debt.

(32,075 posts)He may have picked up "a few hundred million", but he was A LOT deeper in debt than that. Some accounts say that he was at least a billion dollars in the hole.

(9,426 posts)how he feels about "two billionaires running for the WH, against each other" He replied "Who is the OTHER one?" He knows exactly how much "the other one" is worth, and it is far from a billion.

(2,091 posts)is going to pay off his debts, because that's what a normal person would do. You get a windfall, you pay something off, so you don't have to worry about it in the future. But Trump's never paid his debts, not in full. I'm sure he still hasn't. Maybe he gave them a little to keep stringing them along, but I'm willing to bet hard earned cash (something Trump also doesn't have) he's still in deep doo doo. He's stashing this money somewhere.

(16,838 posts)The anticipation it stoked in children was something else. My parents took us to Rock City and Ruby Falls one time. Looking back on it now, there wasn't much to it, but my imagination was a lot stronger back then, so I enjoyed the sights. And I really loved how I could "see seven states" at the top of Lookout Mountain. Makes me want to go on a trip up there and take some kids with me so I can show them the mountains.

(25,952 posts)We never went to either. I just loved the barns dotted up and down the interstate.
I did get to see Lookout Mountain while on a summer camp trip. That was a lot of fun, and the view was worth it.

(7,402 posts)They feared losing out to people of color. We have known that for years. And having a black President that was very good at the job just heightened that feeling. Obama created tons of jobs so it made no sense for economic issues to be the primary driver. Manufacturing jobs, following the Great Recession, actually picked up some but have again reversed course. Besides, Trumps main themes were "drain the swamp" and "lock her up", both corruption related issues, for which there were none. It's all code any more. Top down was presented as bottom up false promises.

(333 posts)From the books I've been reading about trump, books written by people who worked in his administration, plus the new "a stable genius", trump and steve bannon refer to his supporters as......."DEPLORABLES!" I guess as long as he "owns" the democrats, they don't care. You see these trump supporters really hate democrats. I mean real hate, the kind of hate that pushes them to kill or elect a dumbass as president.
