If you love your kids don't go with them on job interviews

Since complaining about the quality of the truck drivers HR was sending me I am now privileged to sit in on all the interviews with the final candidates and the first today took the cake. We were interviewing a 23 year old man straight out of truck driving school, he had a first class application and resume but we knew something was up by the look on the assistant's face when she brought him in, and his mother. Not only did she sit in but she did most of the talking and no matter how directly we asked questions of this young man his mother answered them, I don't think he said a dozen words. She informed us with a straight face that he was a self starter and as the interview finished she stated that when we hired her son, not if, we would definitely have to discuss pay because the amount we advertised was just too low.

Needless to say this young man is no longer being considered by our company, he might have worked out but his mother just wasn't a good fit.

The Halo Mi-26 helicopter is the largest helicopter in production in the world. Her poor son is doomed to a life in her basement.

guy came in as scheduled. Behind him was a woman who I assumed was a customer. I told her someone would be right with her. She told me she was with the interviewee and was his mother. She then said that “before we get started” she had to know the salary, hours, days off, and vacation allotment.

We never got started!

My mother had a control issue from hell.

She sat in on an interview I had with a local bank. I answered the questions but needless to say, I didn't get that job.

That was the first and last interview she went on with me.

I hope that young man will stand up to his mother and not allow her to go with him to any more interviews.

you're not helping you kid. Just to see a parent walk through the door with a candidate would immediately disqualify that person.

I think she would be one that would do what is described above.

For my first major job interview from which I was hired and made a lifelong career. She knew I only owned jeans and well-worn shirts and as an introvert I was quite nervous, so the Valium and nice suit was the only boost I needed.

She called and told the young man that he hadn't been selected for the position and his mother came on the line and really told her off, she finally had to hang up because of the abuse she was getting, I feel bad if I had thought that was going to happen I would have made the call. On the other hand I'm really happy we dodged that bullet.

She brought her boyfriend. He sat at the table with them. To his (or her) credit, he didn't say anything, but still. It's weird that he was there. I don't think she got the job because I've never seen her behind the counter, but maybe her shifts and my time off don't mesh.

He could be really messed up and everything they recieved so far is from her . Maybe he could be trouble and not up to the job and she covers his tracks
Brings up way too many what ifs ....& she assured them he is a self starter ?? ..

Reminds me of that TV comedy show the Goldbergs where the overbearing mother tries to insert her self in every aspect of her childrens’ lives
The TV bit is funny and her wig hilarious but I think in real life it’s probably not, just a sad relationship.
Yes he is a no for the opening.
