Cancer is not a punishment. Both good and bad people get it. (Original Post) Yavin4 Feb 2020 OP
No it is not showing empathy for every person, and their family, that has had to face that disease. pangaia Feb 2020 #1

And can show empathy for a dear friend who died of pancreatic cancer and not show empathy for a shit bag of a human being like this guy.....and the horror he brought to the world and millions of good human beings...

... it might be this guy.

And really, he could just be using this as a ploy to get more opioids. ¯_(ツ )_/¯

Zero empathy for a cruel greedy monster who inflicted immense and long-term damage on our society and body politic, and who had zero empathy for others

Besides, why should Limbaugh be spared the fate that befalls many Americans?

I have empathy for him, even though I loathe everything he stands for, because I've seen up close and personal what the devastation cancer causes on the victim and the victims family and friends.

I still miss her, admire her empathy and moral convictions, fondly recall her interests and opinions, wistfully engage in her hobbies myself, see her influence on me and my family and our traditions and habits every day, even though she died decades ago.

But I have no particular feelings of empathy for Limbaugh *beyond* that which I have for any anonymous, unknown-to-me cancer sufferer -- of which there are millions globally. Neither do I *deny* him that.

And yet, it seems to me to be rather evident that the world would be a better place if Rush Limbaugh had never acted in it. So any discontinuation of that phenomenon will be welcomed by me, regardless of the means by which it arises.

...my father died of lung cancer...non-smoker...probably asbestos related. So I know first hand how this happens. It ain't pretty.

I had a major heart issue that required the hospital pull out the "crash cart".....what did my kid sister, whom I always admired, helped out, defended, etc. until we became estranged due to her "boyfriend"..say after they found out? "He should have died." Meanwhile, a sister I've fought with my entire life and have nothing in common, came to the hospital to support my wife...and was balling with my wife when they had to shock me.

I don't wish any person dead...I only wish evil dead, unfortunately, sometimes sadly, you can't separate the two.

I went through cancer with a loved one and it is a terrible experience. Personally the worst of my life.

For me though, Rush Limbaugh is a person, who among the many evil things he was a mouthpiece for, didn't want people to have healthcare when they got cancer. He didn't care if they died or they bankrupted.
