But Holy shit, only with 31,347 votes. Total R votes 31,398
To put this in perspective 2016 caucus had 186,932 votes total

The Democrat Party in Iowa really messed up, but the Republican Party did not. I had the largest re-election vote in the history of that great state, by far, beating President Obamas previous record by a lot. Also, 97% Plus of the vote! Thank you Iowa!
I can't find how many voted for Bush in 2004, but he did win 100% of the vote in Iowa.

(14,531 posts)wanting to vote for him but they had to wait outside, in the line.
I was more interested in the R caucus results. I know there will be a drop off in voters because he is the incumbent. This seems to me to be beyond that. I'll be watching and comparing other R primaries in the future.
While looking to update the post I did come across an article that stated trump &co went to Iowa to campaign for him in recent weeks. He still couldn't get 100%of the vote.
Trump, himself, Pence, Donnie Jr, Eric, Mulvaney, Ross, McCarthy, Lara, & Giuliani, Conway, to name a few.
