In their waiting rooms, then ask that question when you check in.

8. Honestly, HOW would you know? You go out shopping around lots of people,

go into restaurants with people. How do you know where each one has been? It is a silly question, why don't they just wear hazmat suits and breathing gear if they are that afraid?

13. Probably starting with "where?" and only if important going on from there.

My doctor's office ALWAYS asks if I have traveled out of country - I think since the last time I was there, but it might be "last 2 weeks"; it's one of a laundry list they go through every time I visit.

7. If my Doctor asks that.

I am going to say "Wow, glad you asked. I went to Wuhan, China for the Chinese New Year. The women in Wuhan are so cute, I kissed all that was ok with being kissed. Oh, by the way, I licked that keyboard that you have been touching for the last five minutes". Nah, my Doctor is a professional, he would never ask shit like that.

9. Well, actually,

it was reception while checking in. I think they are trying to control for a potential pandemic. We do have a large Asian community and the Chinese New Year is a huge thing with lots of travel back to China and relatives coming here. There are many older men who are married to women from China who come from the Southern regions.
I think the question shows responsibility.

11. Do you live in a hermetically sealed bubble?

If not, how would you know if you have been exposed? Do you go shopping, to movies or plays, drive with you windows down, go to the library, fly on business. There are just so many potential exposure points. Why don't they ask you if you have been near anyone with the flu? It is far closer to pandemic level than the Wuhan virus.

10. It's frighteningly contagious

This morning 20,000, tonight 23,000, and we can only assume a lot of victims haven’t been counted.

I wonder, what would your doctor have done if you had just come back from China? I know I wouldn’t want to be the one making that decision.

14. 492 have died of coronavirus

It’s thought to be about 2% lethal and—unlike flu, which tends to kill the weak and old—this thing has been killing healthy adults.

15. 110 people dying a day works out to over 3,000 per month.

The people that have died have died in countries that have weak healthcare systems, China (all but one) and the Phillipines. The first person in the USA that was found to be infected has been released from the hospital.

Maybe I am dense, but in our country, I would be more afraid of the flu since I am more likely to contract it.
