...It doesn't cheapen the, "Medal" it defines the person who gives it. Rush is a well known person who hates those who are disabled, and puts down almost everyone who he disagrees with. He is the last person to get the "highest civilian honor."

...Real reason? Trump is trying to provide a positive message to his base. The rest of us don't agree for one moment that Limbaugh deserves a "Medal of Freedom." 14. I like to contemplate the reality of the coming months for Limbaugh

Stage IV Lung Cancer results in intense pain during the closing months. This is usually treated with heavy pain killers because addiction is not much of a concern during palliative care.

For those who abuse pain killers earlier in life, a tolerance to the effects builds up.

Because Limbaugh was a heavy using of oxycontin for much of his adult life, he will likely get no relief from the intense pain resulting in months, and possibly up to a couple of years, living in sheer agony.

I find thinking of this outcome for Limbaugh's life somewhat soothing.
