Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Wednesday trashed President Trump’s raucous State of the Union address while huddling with rank-and-file Democrats and explained why she dramatically ripped up his speech as he wrapped up his remarks.

“He shredded the truth, so I shredded his speech,” Pelosi told House Democrats during a closed-door caucus meeting, according to sources in the room. Like she did the night before, she called his 90-minute address “a manifesto of mistruths."

“You are supposed to talk about the state of the union,” Pelosi continued, “not the state of your alleged mind.”

Democrats, expressing support for Pelosi’s gesture, erupted in a standing ovation, lawmakers said.

“She ripped it from top to bottom,” said Rep. Lois Frankel (D-Fla.), speaking metaphorically of Pelosi laying into Trump’s speech.

Not that she tore up his written copy of his SOTU speech,... it was just a bunch of lies anyways.

It was after she tore the thing to shreds,.. she should have then taken her big mother-fucking gavel and bopped on the back crown of his head while he was bragging his ass off looking forward. If she snuck up on him she could have given him a nice welt on the back of his head.

I interpreted it as it wasn't really a SOTU speech. It was a campaign speech, vote for me speech. It didn't "meet the requirements of the assignment."
