Istanbul, Turkey (CNN) — All 183 people on board a passenger plane survived after it skidded off the runway and broke apart while landing at Istanbul's Sabiha Gokcen airport.

Fifty-two people were injured in Wednesday's accident and taken to hospital, Istanbul's governor Ali Yerlikaya said.

The Pegasus Airlines plane was carrying 177 people and six crew members, according to the Turkish Transportation Ministry.

"There has been no loss of life, the injured passengers are being evacuated off the plane to hospitals," Turkish transport minister Cahit Turan said.

Pilots kept us on the runway. Thought that went through my mind: "Among the three Americans on board was ... [unc70]"

Not as scary as the time years ago when I used a newly installed phone on a plane to make the call home to say goodbye. Pre cell phone, so I only got the answering machine.

in Denver, not the destination we were headed to which was Chicago. It was clearly and "emergency landing" as I looked out the window, there were dozens of fire trucks, with there lights flashing as we landed. We landed safely in Denver without any instances, and the fire in engine which had been on for a short time (2 or 3 minutes) was totally out and did not restart.

.... I was stuck there for a couple of days, got another flight in Denver to Chicago. I guess I am totally grateful for being live, but sometimes I forget how grateful I should be.
