The Fact That Romney, Manchin, Jones, and Sinema Voted Not To Acquit Was A HUGE Defeat For Trumpism.

Yeah, we all knew the spineless, amoral, lickspittle GOP Senators would acquit Trump. We all knew that was going to happen.

But, for two solid weeks, Fox 'News' (aka Trump's cheerleading squad) has been crowing that NOT A SINGLE REPUBLICAN would vote against acquittal, and TWO OR THREE OF THE DEMOCRATS would vote FOR acquittal. The fact that that didn't happen is a HUGE BLOW to Trump.

For two weeks, Fox News has been blathering about how 'vulnerable Democrats in purple States' might flip sides. And about how we should watch Joe Manchin and Doug Jones, and maybe Kyrsten Sinema very closely.

Make no mistake about it, if Manchin, Jones of Sinema had flipped, Trump and his flying monkey squad would have declared 'the greatest victory in the history of our Nation!' No fooling.

But, the fact that NOT ONE Democrat flipped, and ONE REPUBLICAN actually DID flip is a (relatively speaking) HUGE DEFEAT.

Do you remember how a couple of House Democrats voted against Trump's impeachment? That allowed Trump and Fox to gloat that "there was BI-PARTISAN SUPPORT AGAINST the impeachment, and only PARTISAN DEMOCRAT (sic) support FOR impeachment."

Can you imagine how insufferable they'd have been if there was ALSO BIPARTISAN support for Trump's acquittal, and only 'partisan' support for his removal???

BUT NOW THEY CAN'T SAY THAT! BRAVO to Romney, Manchin, Jones and Sinema!

McTurtle, Graham, et al, will be in that conversation as well.

Because the mighty tiny jerkoff feel feel is wounded.

Also probably no kompromat; he has skeletons but they are not in a closet. He's no stranger to court proceedings about his business activities and can probably defend himself against anything they do. At this point he probably figures retirement is an acceptable answer if they make the Senate or re-election too unpleasant for him.

Talk radio is filled with all kinds of wild convoluted theories about how the Dems will react. Most overreact. It's part of their beloved "Own the Libs" bit Regardless of how things play out they claim that they were right.

... that if you KNOW the President is guilty then you are ethically, legally, and Constitutionally obligated to convict? You know -- instead of just going, "Yeah Trump did it, but I'm a Republican, sooooo...meh."

No witnesses = not legit
Not a single D voted for acquital
Not all Rs voted against
No Superbowl spike
No SOTU crowing
Impeached forever.

Now we just need to hope there are too many votes against him to rig the election... a BIG if.

It would have been nice in Collins and Murkowski would have had the guts to vote
against acquittal, but that would have been too much of a reach for them. POOR susan would have had to clutch her pearls and look for fainting couch.Hope she is defeated.

Trumpism is carried on the backs of deplorables. I don’t see them giving a rat’s ass about those politicians they’ve yet been instructed whether to love or hate.

We watch the news, they watch Trump.
