I think Romney should be encouraged to run as an independent in 2020

No Democratic can win Utah, but maybe Romney can. Could cost Trump what would've been guaranteed electoral votes. Lets hope Trump does all he can to piss off Romney to make it happen.

Romney might win the never-Trump Republicans and Republican-leaning unaffiliated voters that we'll need to win.

We could ratfuck the GOP by encouraging Democrats in Utah and only in Utah to vote for Romney.

That leaves 6%.

If Romney could get just 5%, it would be enough to cost Trump re-election.

Heck just 1 or 2 percent would likely be enough.

Nope. Sorry. Not happening. I'd rather literally vote for a random yellow dog still.

He did what anyone who isn't bought would do. He is STILL a Republican though. I haven't forgotten that. So, nope.

I think he'd pull some independents who might otherwise vote for our nominee and some never-Trumpers.

Probably a net-negative for us.

Trump CANNOT WIN in a two-person race -- why the hell do people keep wanting to add more and more candidates into the mix? Romney will hurt the Democratic candidate more than he would pull votes from the Trump cult.

And that is not how the media will portray him. He will be portrayed as a sensible alternative to the "two extremes" and it will cost our Democratic nominee votes. How is it that some Democrats still cannot understand this? TRUMP CANNOT WIN IN A TWO-PERSON RACE. Why in god's name do you want more candidates in the race, which will only hurt our chances, just like third party candidates cost us in 2016? I mean, really...

Mormon's in Utah are not big fans of Trump. In fact, I believe it's entirely possible that Trump's attacks on Romney will only make him more popular there.

What might help in Utah is getting Weld's name on the ballot for Nov.
