Trump is mentally ill.

The gathering now at The White House is insanity. The people in the room are cult members.

He is now riffing at how marvelous his SOTU speech was last night. Sniff, Sniff, Sniff.....

"Nothing wrong....nothing wrong."

This is like watching a film clip from 1939 Berlin.

America is lost.

I think the many pressures of the presidency have pushed him over the edge. He was able to function as a sociopath for many years, but he had more control over his environment. He lived in a world of his making, but outside that bubble, he is lost and all his insecurities and inadequacies come to the surface.

What is scary is he will never admit he is wrong or give up.

Politics moves in cycles. We are certainly at a low point now, that compares to previous low points in US history. It is worse, in that it threatens the global society. But 2018 showed that good people are on the rise.

Though I understand and agree with what you are saying.

Saying that someone is mentally ill as an explanation of bizarre or destructive behaviors often stigmatizes people who have major mental illnesses like Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. It is often used to separate ourselves from someone who is behaving the way the Trump behaves or other bad faith actors.

I would bet good money that Trump could be diagnosed with at least 2 personality disorders. Anti-Social Personality Disorder and Narcissistic Personality Disorder.

I also agree that while things seem precarious right now, America is not lost.

She is very limited in her education, probably intellectually slow so it is no surprise she can’t think her way to understand how she is being duped. I just weep for those people who cannot see him for what he is and how he uses people like her.

So I’ll block more sources and they will recede into the background again but it makes me scared and frightened for our country to know those people are still out there. And they vote. 😵

I can't really speak to any division between mentally ill and socio/psychopath. I do believe that mental illness is a valid concern, and that it is a separate issue from lack of character.

The man needs treatment--for our sake, if not for his. Our society needs treatment, frankly. And we could all stand for some character-building lessons.

Above all else, Trump needs. . .For. The. Love. Of. God. . .boundaries. Mommy and Daddy probably didn't care what Donny did, as long as it didn't impact their comfort levels directly. Scream his head off--put in him in a room far away behind thick doors. Kick the staff in the knees--the staff get paid to put up with that crap. Problems with the law--make it go away by hook or by crook as long as it doesn't ruin a dinner party.

Trump will never get the love that he needs, because he has never acknowledged what is wrong with him. He will never understand that behavior has consequences, because he has been shielded from punishment for his actions to the point that he barely understands the concept of cause and effect. Extrapolating that idea into the moral realm is simply beyond his ken.
