St. Timothy of New York, one of the many "patron saints" of child molesters, had to save face and offer to give a prayer at the GOP to negate the perception/fact that he is a shill for political conservatives.

He was given the opportunity to spew his venom.

And to people who think it does not matter, it's just one of the things wrong with society on what equality means.

At this point I will leave it to ignorance, but that will only work for a short time.

Conservative Catholics have been upset that Obama has been invited to New York's Al Smith Dinner. I'm thinking inviting Dolan to the convention was a way of trying to calm waters. Quite frankly, I wouldn't have bothered, given the general attitude of conservative Catholics toward Obama. They would not vote for him even if he were Christ incarnate.
