"King Donald to GOP: And Nowand ForeverYou Shall Be My Servants"
They sat mute as Donald Trump attacked the religious faith one of their own. They sat staring down at their feet. Why not? So much for his devotion to religious liberty, as he claimed earlier in the day. Trump knows that the evangelical movement is as much a whore to him as any of his previous purchased dalliances. When youre delivering judges, you can grab them by the pussy, clearly.
Remember all the Republican senators this week who were saying they were not going to vote to convict because they thought Trump had learned his lesson? That he would move forward a chastened man?
Yes, Susan Collins, Im looking straight at you. Many of the senators who said Trump had done something wrong but not something impeachable sat in a room today and clapped like trained seals being tossed chum at the Douchebag Seaquarium. Trump rubbed his guilt in their faces, having learned exactly the opposite lesson that they imagine....

drumpf's superpower is he knows how to play to the worst in people.
then he seduces them into his game to innoculate their conscience.
they won't allow themselves to wake up because they would then see they have no soul

(20,366 posts)Trump has abused his power to an extent never before imagined in the history of our great country. Republicans act like this is normal, and acceptable. There will be a day of reckoning, and they will all be known, and will pay for their sins.

(7,991 posts)Not a single Republican Senator "thought Trump had learned his lesson". That focus group tested message scored the highest in spite of not being believable so, without an alterative, they moved forward with that line. Revenge is in full swing, as we all knew it would be, so these fickle Senators should be prepared for the backlash. Apparently they thought it would be the lesser of two evils.

(53,410 posts)all the Republicans across the board repeat it in the same blitzed round of talk shows. When they all do it, which is a Republican habit, you know its as fake as their thoughts and prayers mantra.
Theyve been doing it for decades, nonstop. In the social media days I always wondered how they received their talking points. Fax? Courier? And who chose the talking points?

(25,569 posts)I never believed for a moment that any of them really thoyght he had learned a lesson. Trump never feels chastised, only sggrieved.

(6,640 posts)And, just think of the "behind the scenes" crap they have heard about how red don comports himself. What gets leaked or made public is bad enough, but there must be even worse that they've managed to keep a lid on.
They know he's deranged and unfit, and would not only fail to learn anything but also rabidly seek revenge.

(2,949 posts)Is a member of a group put together to defeat trump in the next election. I believe they are all republicans who are responsible for many attack ads on Democratic candidates in the past. Can't remember the name of the group but a google search would likely find it.

(1,402 posts)Thank you, Rick Wilson. I have been a Democrat all my life but have had friends and family that were republicans. I didn't agree with their viewpoint but respected their views. I don't know the Republican party today. DJT has become republican party's leader and it isn't the same republican party!! It has become a party of mean, hateful people and DJT is their leader. It took a lot of courage for Mitt Romney to stand up to him. Romney and others like him will bring the republican party back to the respectful party it once was. I am democrat and will always be, but Rep's has been infected with something and someone EVIL.
