It's not because of some power Donnie Shit for Brains has. It's not even a fucking cult. That explains idiots like gym Jordan, Gaetz and the toothless hayseeds in Dumbfuckistan, Murika, but it doesn't explain 30-40 year powerful politicians.
No, the real story here is that senior and prominent Retrumplicans have done such corrupt and illegal shit that they are facing lifelong prison sentences... maybe even treason and sedition.
