https://www.blackenterprise.com/white-ceo-fired-racial-verbal-attack-black-uber-driver-caught-tape/?utm_source=Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Newsletter%202/7_02/07/2020&recip_id=%5BRECIPID-]The white former CEO of organic fertilizer company Agroplasma USA, based in Tempe, Arizona, has been fired after being caught on camera racially abusing a black Uber driver.
The altercation started when Uber driver Randy Clarke told the former CEO, Hans Berglund, that he had a policy of passengers not sitting in the front seat of his car unless there are three passengers or more. Thats when Berglund, originally from Sweden, insisted he sit in the front. According to ABC15.com, Berglund then said, Are you f***ing serious with me? Is it because Im White? And youre a f****ing N******? You are a f***ing idiot.
Clarke, 25, said I was in a state of shock, I almost wanted to laugh. Some people need to be educated about people who dont look like them. But in this case, the fact that he blatantly said the N-word, I just couldnt let that go, Clarke told 12 News.

(151,022 posts)Usually, the passenger front seat is piled with the driver's junk, of one sort or another. Also, most cabbies don't want passengers in the front, for safety reasons. The driver's safety.
In this case, who wants to sit next to a racist asshole. I mean, really...

(10,805 posts)I ensured car was as clean as it could be, front and back. The trunk was a different matter, one I learned to my cost quickly. I also learned that it is a very good idea to run a dashcam. I had a passenger accuse me of drunk driving. I don't drink...
As for sitting, I prefer front but if driver said "back seat please" I would say "OK" and oblige. I am still a guest in their vehicle.
The ex CEO only has himself to blame.

(37,113 posts)According to OPN, Berglund was retired when he founded the company and was golfing every day and dreaming of joining the PGAs Senior Tour. I came to the United States on a combination work/tourist visa. In the 1990s, nobody ever checked and I just stayed. 9/11 changed everything, Berglund told the newsletter.
Berglund said in the early 2000s he and his wife wanted to raise their 2-year-old daughter in the United States and sought help from Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano and Jeb Bush, his friends, to help, but, They couldnt help me and told me to get an immigration lawyer. His lawyer said he should start a business to stay in the U.S. Thats how it really works. I looked at starting a car wash or a restaurant featuring Swedish meatballs, Berglund said. But a friend then pointed him to Agroplasma and
