I like to use mine for the folks who mostly lurk, post rarely, fly under the radar, and otherwise might not have the same opportunity as others to receive them. I'm kind of this weirdo bleeding heart liberal in that way. I want opportunities for as many as possible.

(2,166 posts)It's very healthful, and I make a big pot every month or so and freeze it in little containers to eat often, as a side dish or the main dish. Love that stuff!

(24,653 posts)back in the day when kids weren't told to bring a Valentine for everyone in the class. It was painfully obvious who the popular kids were and who the "wallflowers" were. I was one of those who had a respectable showing somewhere in the middle who was mildly jealous of the kids who got loads of Valentines and felt horrible for the ones who got maybe one or two. I think I was born a liberal. LOL!

(4,616 posts)Been here since 2002 but only have about 3,000 posts (spent most of post-911 posting at UB75 which, in the past, was a good site.

(24,653 posts)What's that?

(4,616 posts)Its a Brixton, UK site. Like all of us, denizens there were in shock post 911. It was I think while the then NBC anchor was covering 911 that I discovered both DU and UB75. He said, lets see what theyre saying over there on DemocraticUnderground and Urban 75.
I went to the internet and, low and behold, there they were. I posted my 911 experience on a heartbreaking thread over there and made around 4000 plus posts on UB75. It included members from the US, UK, and around the world. The threads didnt drop fast like they did here, so it made for some interesting dialogue. Eventually I migrated here but, as you see, I dont post much. I mostly lurk and really appreciate the discussions here (theyve degraded a bit on UB75).
Anyway... I thank the OP for the heart, its a nice gesture.

Just saw your post when I noticed I had a message, a heart.
Thank you to my secret admirer.
And, I am indeed a lurker. Reading DU for 5 or 6 years now, and really enjoying the analysis, the humor, the cussing too.
Thanks for mentioning us under the radar folks PP.
