We all know when Trump rants incoherently to America he is talking to certain sections of white America. This cohort of the electorate are so fervent in their adoration because this racist wanker has reaffirmed some very sad and rather ridiculous idea that somehow, they are more American than everyone else. It is all a bit stupid really, I mean has anyone ever suggested that they are not American. Of course not. Their problem is that they cannot accept that in the same way they are American so are the Muslims they despise, the women they denigrate, the LGBTQ community they scorn, the Hispanics they work to keep down, the African Americans they shoot. In fact, I would suggest that those who still support Trump at this stage are less American than everyone else. They have demonstrated that they despise the constitution and would happily forsake their democratic freedoms for a great big orange faced wannabee tyrant. Could you get any less American than that?

is simply employing the technique of “the other”. Unter menschen, various racial slurs, use of animals such as rat, dog etc all serve to separate those who are human from those who are not or are sub-human. Which isn't democracy at all. But if you ask them if they know of or have read Orwell's Animal Farm, they look at you like you're speaking Swahili. When you get to the part about equal protection applying to everyone...even people they don't like...even...gasp!....brown immigrants!... they go off the rails.
